Mr. Herbert Brinberg
Baruch College Professor Herbert R. Brinberg created this scholarship to memorialize his beloved wife and to help Baruch students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed in life, both professionally and personally. Herbert R. Brinberg, PhD has taught in the College's Department of Management for the last 17 years. Mr. Brinberg taught in several universities before coming to Baruch, yet he was impressed with the quality of Baruch's student body from his very first day on campus. Mr. Brinberg found our students to be "remarkably different." Mr. Brinberg's commitment to Baruch goes farther than teaching. He is chair of the Business Advisory Council for Baruch's Bernard L. Schwartz Communication Institute (SCI). The Institute brings members of the academic and business community together to develop new ways to teach students skills to communicate effectively in business. Mr. Brinberg is a man with many accomplishments; a man who has led a very full life. By the age of 30, he had served in the U.S. Air Force and earned a doctorate in economics from New York University. By 40, he had a growing family and was an up-and-coming New York businessman. In fact, he was becoming known as a pioneer in the field of information management with executive posts at American Can, Aspen Systems and Wolters Kluwer U.S.
